Sometimes, certain internet providers (ISPs) have trouble resolving domain names or connecting to specific servers — including ours. This can cause slow loading, timeouts, or failed connections.
Switching to a public DNS like Google or Cloudflare can often fix these issues by providing faster, more reliable name resolution.
How to Set Up Public DNS on Windows 10 & 11
Open Network Settings
- Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter, or
- Right-click your active connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and choose Properties.
Change DNS Settings
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
- Select Use the following DNS server addresses.
- Enter one of the public DNS options below:
Public DNS Options
Google DNS
- Preferred: 8.8.8.8
- Alternate: 8.8.4.4
Cloudflare DNS
- Preferred: 1.1.1.1
- Alternate: 1.0.0.1
Save Options
- Click on OK, then Close.
- Restart the Launcher
